Karen our waitress was phenomenal and super helpful in explaining our dining options. She recommended the crab Rangoon, fried jumbo shrimp and dumpling sampler and each appetizer was delicious and flavorful. She said our choice of braised beef noodle was an excellent choice and it did not disappoint! When the cute and colorful dumplings arrived she made sure to explain the ingredients in each one and explained the sauce for the dumplings as well. She was attentive and very friendly which totally elevated our first time dining experience with Ugly Dumpling and thanks to Karen (and the amazing food) we will definitely be returning.

My go to spot for soup dumplings in NJ! This was our third time here and they've been consistently amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious. The must tries are the pork & crab soup dumplings, pork & truffle soup dumplings, and the steamed BBQ pork buns, they never disappoint. Another plus is their happy hour with drinks and appetizers until 6 PM. Unfortunately, we missed it this time since we got there around 7 PM and the restaurant was pretty busy. The only downside was the service. We had to ask twice for sharing plates and our server forgot our Fuji water order. It wasn't a huge deal but it did take away from the overall experience. Overall, I'd still recommend this place if you're craving authentic soup dumplings. We'll definitely be back!

Karen was friendly, attentive, and checked on our table regularly without being intrusive. She was knowledgeable about the menu, answered questions clearly, and kept drinks refilled. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and she maintained a positive attitude throughout the meal. The only area for improvement would be none, because she provided solid service that contributed positively to the dining experience.

Absolutely love the soup dumplings. One of the best restaurants around for them. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is always so clean. I order take out from here quite often. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I also love the decor of the restaurant absolutely recommend a visit.

First time here... Food was AMAZING absolutely delicious and flavorful, our server Ethan was very kind and made very nice recommendations! Food came out very fast and fresh, we each got the dumpling sampler which was delicious and great for indecisive people like us who can never commit to just one flavor-- we also shared the cucumber salad which was soooo good you must get this when you go. Then we got the Edemame ugly style (tossed in chili oil) and crab Rangoons which I liked but my friend wasn't a fan (it was her first time trying them she thought they would be more crabby). I also got the mango lemonade which was really yummy and very sweet which balanced out all the salt from the food. I wish there were more locations in north jersey because I would definitely go more often!
